First off - A BIG THANK YOU TO YOU JEFF
![]() This Corvette is a 1963 Z06 Yenko Racecar. The car was bought at Barrett-Jackson two years ago. I do not know too much about its racing history but I do know that it was raced by John Bushell under Yenko sponsorship until 1965. I do not know how successful it was, but being a Yenko, I think it is safe to say it spent sometime in the winner's circle. If I heard correctly, the motor in the car is a Yenko Stage 1 396. I would have thought, based on the Z06 package and other 1963 Corvette racecars, that this car would have had a 327 CI, 360 HP fulie motor but I guess not? The car was in storage for a significant amount of time. When the car was found, the owner knew it was a Z06 based on the heavy duty brakes, and 36 gallon fuel tank. What through him, was the 396 motor. After years of searching the car has a photo bank of race photos that has helped document the car, and bring it back to its racing glory days. The car is currently owned by my buddy Larry Sachs who also owns the 1966 Best Photo Yenko Racer. The car is currently receiving a complete cosmetic restoration at North Point Restoration in Westbury, New York. The Corvette should have one main gold stripe down the middle and then on each side, two pin stripes accenting the main stripe. Hopefully, I can keep you guys posted as the restoration continues. Larry has asked me to ask the Yenko.net community to share any information you can about his racecar. Pictures, letters, magazine articles, ect. Please post them here I will relay the information to him. Thanks! I will call Larry this afternoon to see if he will bring the Corvettes down to the Reunion. Thanks guys! -Dan

Is that the car that sold for 60 or 80K ? Golden Goose or something like that?
I remember seeing it go across and the price seemed like a bargain to me considering what old documented race cars sell for. Especially with the pedigree it has.
