One of our Pure Stock friends had his van/trailer stolen for the SECOND time this year while in the DFW area. Both times he was at a convention there in DFW, and both times they made off with everything...but neither time were the police helpful. This year he had just bought a brand new 1-ton cargo van and a brand new enclosed Featherlite, and now they're gone. The van turned up yesterday, gutted of all the goods but covered with prints...but the police told him it wasn't there problem, but the insurance companies. And they have yet to find the trailer, just like last time.
So, if anyone can offer any help, I'm sure he'd gladly accept it, as I *believe* he's still in the DFW area. Just drop a post here, or shoot me a PM and I'll give ya his info... |

Rob lets get this info (trailer and Vehicle) over to the Team Camaro and Team chevelle sites as well.
Also theres some Law Enforcement folks on those sites as well and maybe we can find them before they get stripped.

The cops just don't seem to care about auto theft.
A friend of mine had a 98 Corvette stolen from his lot and they said that they did not have the time to search for it and that it was probably chopped and gone. 2 years later he was driving around and saw the car...(he knew that it was his because he had put a different exhaust and a few other things on it) it was on a lot for sale but had a tag on it. He wrote down the tag number and it came back registered to a Nissan. That was enough for the police to go in and question. Turns out the vin had been changed on the dash and the car had about 5000 miles on it but he got it back ...but only through his own diligence.

That is a real bad thing to happen twice. He needs to learn to not go to Dallas it looks like.
It is sad that we have to do everything for our self's. The cops are overwhelmed with BS and drug calls and this is not something that gets on the front page of the newspaper so we get little or nor attention or help. The best thing we can all do is protect our own stuff by having locaters and alarms and a motor kill switch and a second one that will shut off the gas to the motor after 2min of running. That will put them out in traffic and they will usually abandoned it and run rather than take a chance of drawing attention. Of course watching where we park and even what part of town we are in can make a difference. Buddy up and park two units where you have to move both to get either one out. Parking a tow rig is a POS anyway where you can get it out in the morning. A little pre planning goes a long way. Imyself, have actually been considering a motorhome with a two car hauler built into the back of it so that I can be right there to watch it. pantera I wonder if you left a extra cell phone in the unit hidden that they could locate it with the phone system? Sounds like a good idea for a new alarm system ???

I'm not for sure, Bud, but I believe he was. Last year he suspected the hotel security guards were in on it.
For those that don't know, he was there on business, hauling supplies to a national convention of some kind. Both years he had a trailer/truck full of stuff just "vanish"... |

Tell your pal to pull the ecm fuse when he parks his vehicles from now on.That way it can't be stolen unless the thief has a tow truck
