Back on the rotisserie, getting closer to paint. The painter recommended what he calls epoxy radiator black which is a pretty tough coating. I feel it’s a bit too glossy so any advice on a good product for the floor pans, subframe, wheel liners etc would be greatly appreciated. Jerry M’s book says 30% gloss for these items.
Additionally, I’m thinking gloss likely varied (as an example) between the subframe and floor pans as I assume the subframes came into the plant pre-painted. Is this a correct assumption? |

Paul,
I'd reach out to Lloyd and ask him what he is using. https://www.yenko.net/forum/member.php?u=51901 I looked through Chick's thread and did not see anything definitive as to what they used in his 68. https://www.camaros.net/threads/time...stored.182584/ Can't wait to see the continued progress! Wow, I just read a little of that post and I am saving it to read fully and follow all the steps! I have a 51 AD and my 69 vert to paint and was wondering what I need to do. Those post are just what I needed! Mike's thread as well as Lloyd's Brooklyn thread, and Chick 68 Z thread are all you need to restore Camaros!

Bill Hirsch paints are high quality (at least they were 15 years ago).
The chassis black has held up very well on my car. I don't know if you can get it in a rattle can. But for me, even if you can, I like to use a spray gun.
