I have a 1968 Camaro with a very nice original trunk. While not perfect it is far too nice to respray it, especially since there is nothing available that really matchces the original factory finish. Any suggestions on what product to use to clean up the original?

Vacuum it out and leave it alone.

Its avalable now, Larry Christianson sells it. Ill have to get with our other shop to get his number. This product it so close you can blend with it on your original spatter, I have done it. The best thing is it repels water and wont peal like the spray bomb. Ill ty to post his info tomorrow.

The only trunk paint I have seen that looks right is whatever Supercar workshop does and I don't think they sell the paint.

I know how the SCW does it, but it takes quite a bit of practice and the right equipment. They are dead nuts on with theirs.
I tried it, didn't like the way I did it, and rattle-canned mine until I get better at it!

[/ QUOTE ] For two of my cars that I didn't want to repaint but had some surface rust and dirt, I scrubbed with a fine steel wool pad and hot soapy water, dried and vaccumed completely, then protected with BoeShield T-9. If the dirt and rust doesn't go through to bare metal, I would recommend this procedure. |

The most correct looking splatter paint I have seen is from John Berlage. He sells it by the qt. It is as close as I have seen in a single stage operation. Some of the restorers use several stages to get their effect. His # is 563-588-0536. He is also listed in hemmings
