![]() Hey I am sure Rick will chime in..but you should get some detailed pics of the three Jim "SS4Real" has...they are original never painted... what caught my eye the most was the lack of a crisp line between the black spokes and the silver of the rim..it has a fuzzy edge from the black over spray..the only way I can think to duplicate what I was looking at is to use a airbrush for the black coat and a steady hand to get that natural fuzzy edge. You may be able to use the masking foam that painters use in the door jambs of cars in order to get that fuzzy edge as well. might have to experiment with it.

Here are a series of 4 pictures taken from my original unrestored AO 12 15 wheels (1970 application). I'll let Rick inform us of the actual colors, order of painting and if this is identical to 1969 as well. This picture is of the front of the wheel which is Argent Silver. The color is faded after 35 years but appears to be almost a satin finish for the Argent Silver. There is a somewhat fuzzy line between the Silver and the Charcoal Grey at certain points. The Charcoal Grey appears to be almost flat in sheen.

Picture #2 is of the back of the wheel which is grey. It has a slight sheen to it, almost like low gloss or semi-gloss grey. There is no overspray on the back of the wheel from the Argent Silver or the dark Charcoal grey at all.

Picture #3 is of the center of the wheel or rim which would, of course, be covered by the tire when mounted. There is both Argent Silver overspray from the front and grey from the back of the wheel. The overspray meets about 1/2 around the entire rim and is irregular in pattern.

And, since we are on this topic, is there somebody out there or on this board who can professionally restore these?
