Default Motion valve covers

These are a second set I have and these have the large
inset for the emblem. They are also made by Chev.
Does anyone know what cars they came on or were they
an a counter Part. The other question I have is what were the 3 pegs inside the covers used for.

The covers are NOT made by Chevrolet, they were always an aftermarket cover...the Chevrolet name cast into the back just means that the particular casting FITS Chevrolet... similar covers were also made for ford, mopar, etc. The 3 bumps you refer to are actually the bosses to attach screws when installing the baffle plates under the oil fill/breather. These are now being re-cast today, which is why you see so many sets on ebay with various emblems (Yenko 427, ZL1, Nickey, etc. etc.) stuck in the holes... These were sold under various brand names over the years, but were never made by or sold by Chevrolet.

Thanks Joe.
I Guess that the baffle was installed so the pcv valve would not suck oil. Do you have a pic of the baffle installed in the valve covers? I would apreciate a look

Actually, the smaller PCV hold did not have a baffle...only the larger oil-fill/breather hole. Here's a pic of a set of original Motion ones, the baffle looks to be factory riveted, but I have also seen them screwed in place. (see attachment) Its just a flat piece of sheetmetal. The newer sets actually come with the baffle plates and screws uninstalled, and packaged separately.

Joe
whow did these valve covers without the drippers work
on the rocker arms, did the rockers get enough oil on them
on solid lifter motors? Or was there a problem.

No problems... Many a solid lifter big block use aftermarket valve covers without internal oil drippers.
