I'm sure it's a scam. This car has been advertised for sale in Michigan for quite a while.

We won't even talk about the wrong radiator shroud, steering wheel, clutch pedal, shifter location, and more.

<font color="blue">It looked almost legit until I scrolled to the very bottom and saw that email "ASQ" link.
That's why eBay hasn't TKO'd it.

I've seen that same box in Romanian scammer's email notepads when I hijacked their accounts.

They pass that code around like candy.

I sent him an inquiry and acted like I was this rich jacka$$ and didn't have time to mess around. I want the car "before the 15th or forget it!"

I'll bet he has several dozen fools on the hook. They all pay a deposit, then the Romanian "double-dips" them by holding the car until they cover the shipping insurance. (Usually another $1200)

I saw a poor 64-yr old guy get nailed for a '57 Belair for $6500, then the Romie hit him for another $1500 tab for "insurance." The guy paid it reluctantly, lost it all and now his reitement car is gone and his wife won't talk to him. It makes me very angry...

Maybe I'll put this Romo-ass on my Hit List. My eBay Scam Killers group is now 300+ strong and we've invaded over 2,200 Romanian scam accounts this year alone.

I can already feel the hate brewing... Merry Christmas, Vladimir!

I got a reply!

Hello,
I'm really sorry for this late reply but I've been very busy lately and away from a computer. The car is located in Albuquerque NM, in excellent running and body condition, no flaws on it or any other mechanical problems. It has a clear title and it will be signed and notarized on your name as soon as the payment will be completed.
Regarding payment I am aware of the buyer's protection and we will use eBay's motors vehicle purchase protection program which will hold the payment until you receive the car. If you are interested you will be asked to make a deposit of $2900, the buy it now price is $9,000.
By sending your deposit to eBay you are not buying the car, is just the way the program works (and in case you buy the car it will give you a 1 month/1000 miles guarantee). However, it is 100% refundable if the car is not as described.
If you are interested please provide me the following informations necessary to take a decision :
-your full name and address for shipping
-your phone #
-any negative feedback and if so .... for what reason.
If I receive the requested information you will be informed by eBay during the next hours with details about your purchase.
The car will be inspected and evaluated by eBay's team so there is no need to ask me about it's condition as long it will be a guaranteed purchase by eBay.
Thank you,
Helen Karns

Blah, blah, blah...this is Romanian script.

It's so cool that we shut down a bunch of US military bases here and put thousands of support service businesses out of work. Not to mention civilian military jobs.
Now on Tuesday, Sec. of State Condie Rice signed a deal to open not one but THREE (3) military baes in Romania.

This means we're pumping MORE millions into a country that scammed Americans outa $206 million last year.
