I am restoring a 1967 Impala SS 427. On the chrome valve covers and on the console are Yenko Tuned decals. Is there any way to tell if Yenko had anything to do with this car. It came from PA near where Yenko was. Any ideas ?

Jerry,
I am not the one to answer your question but I would love to see in progress pictures of the car. Rick

Sounds very cool Jerry! . Is the original L36 still w/ this car? . Considering the L72 wasn't available in '67, if Yenko prepped it'd be interesting to know what would have been done to the L36? ~ Pete

The "Yenko Tuned" decals were not produced until after 67, so if the decals are indeed originals, they were applied years later. Are they the red/orange clear overlay ones with the Yenko shield logo on them? That decal has been in reproduction for probably 20 years or more, so they could be something someone added many years later. I agree I would love to see some pics. You state that the car came from somewhere near Yenko, where specifically?

Thanks guys, the original 427 is still with the car. All numbers match. Right now it is in pieces. Some one started doing the car. Right now I have the chassie completly stripped down getting ready to take it to have some rust areas cut out and new metal replaced. I would send pictures if I new how to do it.

Yes, the Yenko decals are the orange/red color with clear back ground. They look old, but I don't know who put them there. Thats why it would be interesting to know if Yenko had anything to do with this car. Not that it matters to me as far as re-sale. I'm doing this for me not to sell
