I have a question on a 1969 turbo 400 transmission.I am trying to find out if & where the Vin # of the car are stamped on it.All my book information tell's me how to decode the plate on the trans but does'nt say anything about the Vin #.I would appreciate any help Thank's Irvin

It's stamped on the edge of the bellhousing of the transmission on the drivers side at about the 10 oclock position for a GM assembly plant car (like a Norwood Camaro). Or on the machined pad on the drivers side of the transmission between the shifter lever and speedometer connection for a GMAD assembly plant car (like an LA built Camaro).
