Default 1st ride in a real Gasser

I just want to thank Mark Johnson for giving me a ride yesturday in his 1955 Vintage Gasser... Last year I gave him a ride in my 69 Z28 and the little mouse motor impressed him, but boy was I in for a shock as a passanger of his fire breathing Rat motor in the double nickel... This car has a great race history even winning at the old Alton Drag-a-way in the late 60's, and the owner loves his car and has preserved the history of this race car for future generations to enjoy... Here is a picture of it at Bowling Green this past Summer... And again, thanks Mark for the ride, I still have a grin on my face...

at least you took the safe route and rode in the 55 instead of the death trap next to it to the left

I can imagine what I would feel like after a ride in that.

Tell us more about the history of the car at Alton. We spent a LOT of time there in the mid/late '60s.

'55 (but then, so is the Chevy II)

I love those Gassers. Let's get some more Gasser pics up here. Here is my 57. My favorite car to drive, no numbers match, just big smiles. Dana
