Default Original Owner

I was fortunate enough to meet the original owner of my '67 big block Corvette at the Vettefest. Here's a fellow that ordered a very fast Corvette when he was 21 years old and didn't tear it up. He only drove it in the rain once when it was a few weeks old and then retired it to the garage. He was kind enough to give me the original keys that had the punches in them and a plastic seat cover and bungee cord that held it on when it left the St. Louis factory. No one at the show had ever seen an original GM plastic, fitted seat cover like the one he had saved for 39 years. He sold the car one year before his 19 year old son was born, so this was the first time his son had seen the car.

Pretty amazing, Tim. If I'd have known all that, I would have looked at it more closely at the Vettefest.....plus I'd have driven a little more carefully on the way home :-) That is the first time I've ever seen one of those factory plastic covers.

You drove fine, I didn't wake up at all in the back.

Bob, thanks for putting it all together. One of the best events I've ever been to.
