Default Value of Muncie shifter from Impala?

I posted this question over at Team Chevelle, but thought I'd ask the folks here as well. I have an original Muncie 4-speed shifter from a 69 Impala. I got a guy who wants to trade my Impala shifter for a 70 Chevelle one (plus some extra $$ that I'd have to kick in). Mine has no handle, and appears to be complete less one mounting bracket. It has minimal rust since its out of a Western car. Does anyone have an idea of the value on the Impala unit? They obviously made a lot fewer 4-speed Impalas than Chevelles, and the Chevelle shifters are also being reproduced whereas the Impala ones are not. I'm thinking this guy's trade offer is not that great...

Thoughts?

Does it have any of the backdrive linkage? Thats what really kicks up the price of the 69 Impala shifters.

Hi Rainer:
His offer is a joke if he expects you to kick in money. Chevelle muncie shifters are a dime a dozen and were supplied over many years and tens of thousands of installations. Your shifter is 68/69 big chev only and is not easy to find when you need one especially with the rods and support. I will send you a pm.
tks Joe

not completely up on value of Impala muncie 4spd shifters, but I would imagine using one would kinda feel like stirring a 55 gallon drum of cantalopes with a drive shaft.
try to swap it for a Hurst!
I have had the original muncie shifter for my 65 Chevelle "restored" and I still can't stand it. (It's on a shelf in the garage)

I'm sorry, you asked for the value, not an opinion. I know for sure it's rare and worth a lot more than a chevelle shifter as stated above.

Thanks for the input, Joe. Just to be clear, the guy said I would be getting a shifter that was pretty much complete and ready to install, minus a handle, after I send my shifter and $200. Still, from what you're saying the deal is still lopsided.

Is there really a difference in the shifter unit and the shift rods? I could easily imagine differences in the handles and backdrive linkages between body styles, but since the transmissions themselves and where they mount to the crossmember are the same, I wouldn't think there would be any difference in the shifter and rods

In all honestly we are talking apples and oranges.
Not a great pic but this is is the shifter out of my 70 chevelle and a spare for my brothers 68 impala.

One rod the 1/2 is the same. Chevelle mounts to the cross member with the front tab to the right impala to the left, stablizer rods are different lengths and handles are different.

Handles impala/chevelle console then impala/ chevelle bench

Bare shifter with no mounting bracket and rods I think are the same but that is it.
That is why there is normally at least a 500.00 difference in price when you do see an impala complete shifter vs chevelle.
The reverse lock out set up for impala is in a class all of it's own and just about impossible to find complete.
