It does not have the correct 3916234 COPO posi unit as listed.
Look at the picture that shows the internals of the posi unit. The spring plates have oval holes, not the correct round holes for the c-clips. Look at the axle gear teeth and where the axle gear seats against the clutch plates. The teeth are too small and the axle gear has a flange where it seats against the clutch plate, which is not correct. |

Just to be clear now, after a few phone calls.

What about the stamp?

Unfortunately I can't toss out an opinion on that stamp because I don't have one to overlay the picture with and I haven't seen the rear in person.
I also do not have that date in my database as a valid assembly date. The letters would need to be inspected with a loupe for verification or compared to a valid known stamp of the same date. I was just pointing out that the carrier is able to be identified as a standard unit and not a COPO posi unit. If it is a real housing with that date, it will be a prize for somebody even without the original r&p or carrier. |

It has a standard filler plug too.

What's unique about the BE filler plug?

"BL" rearends have been known to be fudged into BE but are usually obvious if checked closely.

The BE filler plug is not special. It is just a standard, flanged posi filler plug.
The picture shows a standard non-flanged fill plug for an open rear end. |

I try and learn something new every day. I never knew there was a difference in plugs, Thanks.

Great. thanks for the info. I didn't realize the plugs were different between posi and open. Would they both be 12 bolt? What was the flange for? To secure the posi tag?
