Default Barnhardt's Camaro in Feb. Hemming's Muscle Mach.

I just got the February issue of Hemming's Muscle Machines and, on page 51, there's a picture of Dave Strickler leaning on Grump's 1970 Camaro taken at the 1970 US Nationals. In the background you can see the Barnhardt Camaro; very cool.

Good eye, yep that's his car and he was class winner at that event in 1970.

Still resides with the *original* owner, 1970 US Nats @ Indy winner, still racing today!

If you haven't already, you guys should ALL check out this Feb.08 HMM issue.
21 original owners featured with their vehicles,as well as some incredible Ammon R. Smith/Old Reliable/Srtickler-Jenkins vintage photos.
The Original owner photos & write up alone have kept me constantly referring back to it all week.
There's an excellent feature/photos on an original owner 22K mile used, but not abused white/blue gut 1969 SS L-78 Camaro as well.
This is a must buy mag for anyone who frequents this site.

That car has been discussed on this site thanks to Jason L78 who met the owner several months ago at Hemmings Musclepalooza (sp). I have been in contact with the owner who has as much enthsiasm about his car now as he did when he purchased it new in May of 69. Rick you hit it on the head these original owners stories are fantastic and I couldn't put the mag down either.

A funny story, I had been speaking with Jim House the orig owner of the white L78 and mentioned I just received my copy of the mag. Well his had not so instead of waiting for it to arrive, he drove to the Hemmings office the next morning to pick his up. The car was discussed in the thread below.

That's the shot just after Strickler cut the front spoiler off with a hack saw....Da Grump said "Remove that damn field plow and the car will go a .1 quicker"....

I guess I have to go to the Book store...Thanks for the heads up!

Dang, I was scouring the magazine and the article on Jim House's car but totally missed my Hero in the background.

I had seen the picture before but it's always good the see the Big Guy get some more ink.
