Default BA's Chevy Vettefest Thank You Post

It seems hard to believe, but it was a week ago this evening that we were all in Chicago getting ready for Chevy Vettefest...and what a show it was!

I don't even know where to start with my "Thank You's", so please excuse me if I leave anyone out, as I am sure I will. I am going to limit this to sYc related folks, as I feel that you guys (and girls) are most deserving and are the basis of the new image and future success of the show.

Mr. Clary and Family; the sYc has become my new "Home" and I feel very welcome here. Without this fantastic site, I would never have the been able to have the direct access to some of the countries finest and nicest collectors. You and the site have opened many doors for me and for this, I Thank You.

Stefano Bimbi; not only have you welcomed me into the "inner circle", but you have also become a great friend. I always feel like "one of the gang" when we get together and you also have introduced me to numerous collectors. I look forward to not only maintaining a business relationship with you for many years to come, but also to hanging out at shows and auctions and other neat events.

Rick Nelson; the LS6 Showcase is something I will be proud of for many years. You truly raised the bar and assembled what must be the largest and without a doubt highest quality gathering of real-deal LS6 cars ever assembled under one roof. Your fine reputation enabled you to do this and I am sure that many people, both spectators and participants alike, were blown away by your presentation.

Dan "The Man" Vasic; Whew...nothing like steppin' to the window! When you suggested a 69 Chevelle Showcase as an addition to the show, I knew right away that you were the guy who could pull it off. What an absolutely amazing group of 69's: L78's, a Convertible, L34's, a variety of colors and as if that isn't enough, you even found a Wagon!

Helen and Nancy Gibb; What a true honor it is to be able to host you two lovely ladies. You are both true ambassadors of our sport and truly a class act. I always look forward to Helens hugs, as they really energize me!

I have to mention a few other members too;

Dennis Cumby; your infectious smile and positive attitude is an inspiration to me.
Ken Tibor; you also have that perfect attitude and it is always a pleasure spending time with you
Ken Barnhardt; what can I say? You are a true gentleman and besides that...you can take a joke and dole 'em out with the best of 'em. Please keep doing what you do!
Dru Diesner; I am glad that I have gotten to know you and we were able to work out any misunderstandings we may have had. Anyone who can blast shredded rubber on the quarters of anything Yenko is a class act in my book!
Jim Pearce; another class act; humble, quiet and a true gentleman. Your fresh Yenko Camaro is a work of art and your lady is also a class act.
Chris Piscitello; You are too much! I will never forget the slight pause when you were telling me about the display on the phone and how you decided to call it "The Twins" display. What I remember the most was when you asked me after a slight pause; "Can we do that?" Well...the rest is history and the display was absolutely off the hook. Oh...and the cars weren't bad either!
Jody Schmeisser; You just keep bringing some of the coolest stuff to the show. The S10 was a hit and I cant wait to see what comes out of your garage next
John Tinberg; I think John was the first one in the building and when I saw that Nova coming my way in the building, I knew that it was going to look great in the "Hot Spot" up front. And as if that wasn't enough, John dragged in his fresh as can be 55!
Brian Henderson and the Supercar Workshop crew; You guys never disappoint me. Congrats on being the very first "unfinished" car to ever score a Top Gun award. Quite an achievement and very well deserved. I can't wait to see the finished product in November!

Each and every one of you who brought cars for the different Showcase Displays are to be commended. You help me realize my goal of giving Chevy Vettefest a whole new personality with better quality cars and stuff that you just don't see at the average cruise night or even any other show.

There are some people who say they have the "Best" Supercar Show. Well...I beg to differ. There is a new game in town and with the continued support of the sYc, it will continue to be THE best place to see the very best Supercars and Musclecars in the world. Well, maybe second best behind the SCR!

I must say I really missed a few sYc members too and hope they will be able to make it in November; Mike G., Charlie L., Bruce, Joe D., please book your flights now or in Mikes case...just STAY HOME!

So what does the future hold for Chevy Vettefest? Hard to say.

Brian has stepped to the window to put together a Nova Showcase, which is something that has never been done at CVF and Darren and I discussed the possibility of a 69 Z28 gathering. Many of you have already made the commitment to make these Showcases happen, and again, I say THANKS for helping me make the Chevy Vettefest the very best All Indoor, All Chevy show and swap meet in the world.
