Default Tire conditioner on bias plies - help!

I'm hoping someone has the answer on this. The last couple weeks, the weather broke around here (in the 50-60 degree range. I have Firestone F70-15 redlines from Coker, I've had them for over 7 years, no problems.

However, this year, I took the car out, parked it, then got out to see if everything was level, etc. The tires (inner and outer sidewalls) had a chalky coating all over them, which wasn't there when I left the garage. I used Armor All Cleaner, and it removed the chalky texture (with a little rubbing). A week later, tires look fine, I take the car out, and the same thing happens, only not as severe. A week later, still some blotches of white chalky marks. I'm assuming this is coming OUT of the rubber?

So my question is, have any of you had this happen on Firestones? If so, what tire conditioner do you use to stop this from happening?

Over the years, I've tried No Touch, Formula 2001, and Armor All Cleaner (not the shiny stuff). As of this year, I'm just using the Armor All Cleaner. I know the chalkiness problem has happened to me in prior years, but I can't remember what product I used to fix the problem.

I'm a Firebird guy, so go easy on me.

I have the same Coker F70 redlines and they do that same thing over the winter. I use Comet and a scrub brush to clean the tires and then Westley's Bleche-White, maybe two or three applications, to further clean and dress the tire. I can't remember if I used a final dress of Armor All (probably did) but the tires look great afterwards. Follow the instructions on the Bleche-White since it's bad for your skin. I also wet the driveway down before the job and keep water flowing around the tire so the Bleche-White and Armor All don't stain the concrete. Coker redlines are almost too much work to keep nice!

There is a chemical which "releases" from the compound during storage...appears chalky brown on our tires. We use wax and grease remover to clean it...then wash it and rinse..then Meguiars #40 vinyl/rubber treatment. This chemical will always come back though...just one of the joys of old cars

Thanks guys. I just thought it was the Armor All Cleaner (or something else I had used) and someone would immediately say, "Don't use THAT stuff!". Or there was some special gel/spray application that would solve the problem.

Makes you wonder what's different in the repro rubber, verses originals bias plies (or even radials), that causes them to do this?

The waxy release agent on the tire can be resmoothed out on the tire by using a heat gun on low or a hair drier. But once you drive on them they will crack again. I use a product from the old Rusty Jones rustproofing Co. It does not attract the brown road dust you see on other tires and helps keep the waxy release agent soft so you don't see the white haze.

Has anyone tried a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on their tires? Maybe I'll try one and see how it goes. I am due for my annual spring car cleanup and show prep.

I had Kelsey Wide Tread GT repop tires that got a waxy buildup after about 10 yrs. I thought it was buildup of dressing (Meguiars #40)that had been used over the years. Only ever wiped them down with the Meg's. Anyway I went to clean the tires and nothing worked...Bleche White, Eagle Tire cleaner, scrubbed with Dawn and hot water and even resorted to the old days of lacquer thinner and brake fluid....nothing worked. There was a can of WD40 setting there so I thought, why not? It worked great and tires looked really good without any dressing. If you had told me it would work I'd have thought no way.

When I tried the eraser on some BF's, the raised letters shreaded the eraser. Didn't clean them very good either.
