Just curious, I remember seeing a 69 Yenko Camaro in Whitehall, PA (just south of Pittsburgh) around 1982. It was pretty rough with pop riveted patches on the quarters, and an SCCA bumper sticker.
I grew up just south of Pittsburgh, and my sister bought her first new Camaro in 82 from Sun Chevrolet, which was formerly Yenko, and my dad was an insurance adjuster and knew all of the dealers in the Pgh areas during the late 60's, 70's and 80's. Was just curious if it was rescued from those miserable Pittsburgh winters. Cheers.

I think you may be thinking of either "Scooter's" car or "Paglese's"(sp) car. If it was Scooter's, and it is still around, I seem to remember there may have been major body work done in the very early 80's (donor body/rebody) due to a incident of rapid deceleration involving a tree, a hillside and a guardrail. That car was fast maybe the fastest street car in western PA but wasn't much to look at.
