It's not a big block...
Latest addition to the fleet...Toro Zero Turn Time Cutter Mower. 54 inch deck with My Ride. Neat tractor, has connectors for the garden hose so you can wash the underside of the deck by engaging the blades.
Need to install Karen's SS logo to help increase horsepower.

I’ve been looking to get one of these. If I may ask, what made you decide on this brand? I see some brands have front suspension.

Our old Husky tractor died last fall and we tried our neighbor's Toro...Karen liked it and she ordered one...she is 'lawn manager'. I handle the string trimmer

We have an entry level 42" Toro ZTR and it has been a really reliable machine since we bought it in 2011.

Nice mower! We have a 50" entry level Timecutter with the Toro 24.5 hp engine and it's been great, other than the deck idler pulley bearings going bad about every 100 hours. The pulleys are sheetmetal and assembled with the bearing inside, and you can't replace just the bearing with something of quality. It's the stamped deck (not welded like you have), and you can't hear the pulley bearings go bad over the mower, you feel it with the belt off when hand spinning.
Be careful with that deck washing system, the decks like to collect clippings in some spots, and adding more water just leads to faster corrosion. My father in law was a Toro dealer for 50 years until he recently retired and told us not to use it. Seems like it's either a "use it every mow and keep it spotless" or just forget about it and scrape it periodically - we just pull the deck once a year for maintenance.

Have a Kubota ZD-1211 with 72" deck. It's a beast of a commercial mower with diesel engine and can take anything you throw at it. Does a very nice job, but unless you have at least 20 acres to mow it's overkill.
Really love the mower and for whatever reason, I've always enjoyed the decompressing time that grass cutting provides and sense of satisfaction from a perfectly mowed yard. Last edited by COPO; 04-28-2024 at 01:58 PM. |

I'll play... right after oil change and wash and wax.
