Any pontiac guys here?
Pulled the T10 out of my chevelle a few weeks ago and always wondered what kind of car it came from. While wiping the top down noticed these numbers 834P153499 on the front edge of the top of the iron case. Did some looking and could possibly be from a 63 or 4 Pontiac Catalina???. There is a casting date on the iron case of M23, 5.23.63 on the tailshaft and 3.63 on the cover. Could this be a pontiac vin or some other identifying numbers. Thanks. Mark.

I think the early ones had a iron case.63 421s got the all alu T-10 and I think it actually had a bowtie on it as it was the same as 409s and vets.Tom

Yes - that is a Pontiac VIN, for a '64 model year car built in Pontiac Michigan.
