Re: Gas Stations
Those old stations always had a muscle car of some type sitting on the lot or in one of the bays. The one across the street from my elementary school had an SS454 Chevelle in Cranberry Red with black stripes on their lot for years. That car probably cemented my love of muscle cars as I drooled over it daily and daydreamed when I should have been doing school work.

Re: Gas Stations
I worked for Sohio at one time and loved it, pump key in hand and a wad of cash in my pocket. Full service and manual credit card machine at the island. Sundays were a 11 hour shift all by yourself....and the Camaro was always parked out front.

BIG </div></div> ME TOO!! I worked at a Marathon Station all through high school. The owner of the business was really cool. He would let us work on our cars in the evenings in the bays and use the lifts provided all of our work was caught up.. I really miss those days.. Lots of fun!! Seems like it was more simple and just easier times than today... Rich

Re: Gas Stations
Here's a couple of old photos from 1968 of a newly opened Hancock station in Sacramento where my older brothers worked. Bob is in the white shirt behind the pump & Larry is dressed up as the Hancock Rooster bringing in the new customers. I'm the kid in the striped shirt in the background with Bob. I remember they were giving away Hot Wheels cars with fill-ups and somehow I ended up with a few of them.

HOLY SMOKES!...Grant,do you mind if I share your 1st photo with another group?
That's a Wayne 511-E blender pump on the far left.Everyone always assumes these were Sunoco specific, but they have been known to been sold to other oil companies as well. Not only is yours a HANCOCK brand, but it has the seldom seen "Motor Match" chart on top too.
