Default 70 W 30 rebuild

Picked up my post olds from Stefano a couple of months ago and have been enjoying it quite a bit...nice car to drive. Had it out the other eve for some "spirited" exercise and may have been a little hard on the poor girl! . She's banging on the door to let her out! seems I have rattled some rod bearings !...so...motor is coming out.repair..rebuild..replace?..not numbers matching so no worries there but will be along the lines of a stock rebuild. My first Olds project..who woulda thought!!...stay tuned!
So many original parts on this car!!

W 30 carb..late 69 build

Sorry to hear about the engine issues, the Silver lining is that you can now build it your way. Keep us posted on progress and lots more pics on the W-30 specific parts.

Alss, you know you were secretly wishing for this so you could have some fun building a non-Chevy engine.

Always like building my own motors. so....... wasn't the bearings after all..crank and rods are all ok, but the no 2 piston scuffing the cylinder wall will make things interesting. Looks like I get to pick out new pistons! more to come as details and dimensions are made available.

I went with Diamond forged in my SBO. Did you find a block? Let me know if you need help searching for one. Uh oh, sounds like we might have another Oldsmobile junkie on our hands........

Dave, you must have bought those a while ago as I've heard from more than one person Diamond quality control has really gone down hill lately.
I'd suggest CP's and BTR in NY has a nice deal.
