Default 65 Biscayne 409/400 4 speed

Hey guys,
I wanted to share a few pictures of the 65 Biscayne my father and I are just about finished restoring. It's a factory L31 409/400 attached to M21 and 4:10 axle. It was built in early December, 1964 at Tarrytown, NY assembly. The car was sold out of Bangor, Maine new. We did all the work ourselves over the last five years except fitting the headliner. We are very excited to finally have it on the road!

A few more shots:

REM does a beautiful reproduction of the molded hood insulation. It's a great detail along with the overspray on the underside.

Well that is just cool Steve. And a father-son project to boot! I don't think I knew they made '09s in 1965. Wow. Looks very nice!

My kinda car and quite rare with only 6 months of production of 1965 409's and also the ONLY year that combined the 409 with the excellent 12-Bolt rear axle! It's a shame that the dual quads were gone from the option sheet but 409/400 HP 1x4BBL engines DID still come with the radical Z-11 solid lifter camshaft that had .325 duration/.555 lift. That's a thumpin' camshaft! I've always loved that particular single thin strip of brightwork on top of the rear quarter panel body line that was exclusive to the Biscaynes that year. Any photos of the rare in-dash, high RPM tachometer? Great car and thanks for showing.
