Value of BB heads
A pair of 3946074 heads dated 7-1-69 and 7-2-69.
I bought these just as they are,I was told they were on a running engine and when it was sent to be rebuilt the heads were checked and found leake at two exhaust ports. They look pretty good but may have been welded at a lower bolt hole on both heads otherwise look good. I don’t think they are ported but not sure. They have good casting numbers and dates as well as the Winters logo. What are they worth as is? Thanks in advance. Eddie |

Dates are too late for a ZL-1 Camaro engine.
May be ok for a late production L-88 Corvette.

Those have been milled ..a lot!! Intake manifold will need shaved to fit between the now "lowered" heads, among other things. These are going to be a challenge in the long run, but doable.
This is just my opinion based on past experience with excessively milled 074's. Dave |

Looks like the one head has been repaired in the chamber because the weld wasn’t blended out , appear to have receiver grooves to be used with copper head gaskets& o-rings , probably angle milled .120”…. They don’t appear to have had any rocker studs ripped out seems like most of the factory aluminum heads the valve seats would fall out …

The exhaust ports favor the later W port so they have probably ported everywhere to spend that much time on the exhaust & not the rest of the head …

Those exhaust ports have had a lot of welding to build up the floor enough to add that ridge. A lot of time was put into that.
