As the remnants of Ike made their way through N. Ky and Ohio, it set off a series of very nasty and completely UNexpected/UNpredicted windstorms which knocked down trees, power lines, etc., along with knocking out cable lines, not to mention a *%$@load of property damage throughout the state. 84 of 88 Ohio counties suffered damage, clean-up is still in process. Lots of areas still w/o power. Locally we had sustained winds of 60+ MPH with gusts recorded close to 80 MPH, all of which lasted ~6 hours. The power co. just got the lines repaired here around 10:30 local time today. Hopefully the lights stay on.
I've got some catching up to do, so if I don't immediately respond to emails, etc., be patient and maybe send me a reminder in a day or two. Eric |

Stay strong, E! Folks aren't in that big of a hurry...gotta take care of yourself first!
We got the same treatment here in Hillbillyville...lost power Saturday night, had it briefly Sunday, then lost it again Monday...had to grab the generator out of the race trailer and power up the house! Kids thought it was a hoot...me & the wife, not so much! ![]() |

Eric, you're still faster then others now, even when they're at 100%.
I'd rather take a zodiac to work around here.New rain fall records set at the 10" mark.River Grove & Riverside are really understanding why they were named that years ago.I-80/94 is still not fully on line yet.3 days of solid rain from Friday-Sunday.Local counties around Chicago and Northwest Indiana put in for disaster relief assistance already.Helicopters are flying by every hour & fish are where they shouldn't be today. No other place I'd rather live. ![]() |
