Default Biggest dealer mark up

So I stop by my local Chevy dealership this past Saturday just to see if they had a new Camaro I could look at. Sure enough they have a yellow SS/RS parked out front for all to see so I stop in with the wife. The car looked great in person; much nicer than the Challenger in my opinion. Out of curiousity I check out the window sticker and see the total of $46,000.00 and change. Then I notice the $7,500 dealer mark up.
The Salesman comes by and we start to talk about the car and he goes on to tell me about the mark up on the ZR1 Corvettes that they have. I thought the $7,500 mark up was bad enough but, they have the ZR1's marked up an additional $100,000 bringing the total cost to over $212,000
When I asked him if they had sold any he said that he thinks they sold about 37 of them.
I wandered into the Corvette showroom where they had some of the ZR1's and sure enough they're marked up $100k.

I know dealers can mark up cars as much as they want but, to me, I think GM should be able to fine a dealership for being this greedy.

Yeah...when I hear about these dealer mark-ups on the high-po/high dollar cars, I can't help to think about how dealers couldn't sell '69 ZL1 Camaros for sticker which was "only" about twice as much as a typical new car...oh how times have changed.
