Yep Jim, I have that tape. A Chrysler promotional tape. That is when Pro Stock was Pro Stock. Those Pro Stock cars are cars that we can actually relate to. Still fairly stock looking. Landy can really run through those gears on that Challanger. That psychodelic 1968 camaro I believe is a Bill Thomas prepped car from California. Love it!

Yeah.....I love the Pro Stock cars from that era. Something interesting about this race at the Ontario Speedway is that the cars are actually racing down the Pit Road of the Super Speedway! That's why the cars are doing their burnouts at an angle to the starting line and the long straightaway is actually between the Pit Road/Dragstrip and the spectator stands. As a spectator, you were actually pretty far away from the action. That track didn't last too long.

Thanks for posting that!

I am looking to get some DVD's like that. Does anyone have any recommendations?

A few guys that used to work at GM in Janesville get together for "Movie Night" on Wednesdays and I would like to take a good movie there.

Thanks, Kurt

I have a bunch of tapes that I had converted to DVD's from that era.

That's when Pro Stock was worth watching; real factory bodied cars and manual transmissions. Today everything's automatics and bodies that barely resemble their factory offerings all built on tube chassis. I still enjoy drag racing but, to me, the cars of the '60's and '70's are what thrilled me.
