I am going to be looking for a 1970 vintage aluminum slotted wheel 14X? for GM. Probably were 14x7. If I recall they were Hansen or American Racing wheels. I want to stay period correct.
So the post is to get your knowledge to help me figure out how to identify the correct wheels. So please help me figure out what to look for and where to get a set of four for my car. I will be at the famous Pomona Swap in California on December 4th and once I know what to look for may find a set at the meet. Thanks Lee |

Lee, did you happen to look at the "Vintage Wheel" topic under this forum? I'm not being smart. Sometimes it can be a little tricky following threads in here. Some members also comment on the style of wheels they have for their cars under the Day-2 thread as well. Most guys are running Ansen slotted mags with much success as far as period correct is concerned.

The wheel thread in called Vintage Wheels under technical and restoration. And then there is a whole forum under Day-2 and modified stuff. That's where you will see a lot of cool cars.

An old convertible I just finished restoring a 1970 olds 442, picture can be seen on the restoration site where the car was done. Picture is dated 4-70 one month after the car was purchased. Would like to get a set of the wheels the original owner bought. Lee
