Default Voles

We have Voles at my house and I have never had an issue with them till last week when they started living in my Cross Ram. Every day I look and their are black pellets and Peanut shells...what to do? Also found a small bundle of jute padding on the floor this morning.

Any in-site to this varmint problem? Maybe he likes the smell of the Sunoco 112

I always likes the good old wooden mouse trap baited with peanut butter and topped of with a couple sunflower seeds, I love to see the fruits of my labor

What ever they bring to feeding ground it leaves spots on the top plate of the X ram that brake cleaner won't take out. Will get a picture tomorrow morning if they come back. I'll leave the hood open to see if that helps.

We have three dogs and three cats. Two of the dogs have no interest in chasing anything but a dog dish. The third dog, a Jack Russell is kind of dumb and the cats would use him on patrol as "point man" and when the mouse would run, the cats would leave the Jack Russell in the dust, pouncing from across the room on whatever poor rodent he happened to spook.

Here's "Widget" the Jack Russell, and "Terdly" the Tabby resting after a long day of doing nothing.

To quote an old Adirondack Guide I used to know..."a hungry hound hunts the best"

Here is an old thread about dealing with mice - might be helpful.

Best mouse trap ever...5 gallon pail, coat hanger/wooden dowl, soda can, access ramp and a little peanut butter. The dryer sheets and soap are good to put in the car...but, this trap will net you a high return. Just be careful if you have pets with the antifreeze..

**notice I said a soda can...I know you guys never touch any beer

Something is baiting them. Remove any and all items that they can be attracted to. I keep nothing in my garage that will attract anything rodent wise. No food or shelter...no issues. I'd be leary about bringing more in with bait. Clean clean clean...
