Default KQ stamp

Does this look like a original KQ stamp maybe someone who has one could look at there stamping and see.Not sure if they use the "0" stamp and punch in the curly mark?

Jeff,
That stamp doesn't look good to me. I only have 1 rear I can reference that to and it looks totally different. Good picture, it also looks to have evidence of punch marks all around the Q that add to my skepticism and makes me think that character was added. The rear in the car here has a tighter radius on the letter Q (not as round as your pic).

I agree that something is wrong with that one. looks like the area where the Q was added was actually gorund down and then it was added.... here is a pic of one from a Team Chevelle ad for comparison..big difference in my opinion

I think it was a KK rear, there looks to be remnants of a vertical around the edge of the Q. The first K looks right is why I say.

Not typically.

Normally they would have a full set of stamps (you would, too, if GM was paying for it) and would use an actual "Q" stamp.

However, there's nothing to say the stamp didn't get lost and the person had to improvise. Stranger things have happened.

Actually, upon further review, this is not quite correct.

He would have a complete set of stamps at work, and then another complete set of stamps that "somehow" found their way into his toolbox at home.

The "Q" for that date should have the narrow elliptical body, like the zeroes. I have seen a picture of that date before from a verifiable rear. I will look in my emails to see if I can find it. I think that maybe Mark Bulaw sent it to me. Does the rear have a correct carrier and ring & pinion set?
