$25k obo seems like a solid deal for this car. I don't see many of the '70-72 GTOs in this condition - wonder if the paint can be brought back on the horizontal surfaces?

Glad that one is not local. It would be difficult to resist.

I wouldn't touch a thing on that car.

that is a cool car. but the paint can't be saved. i would buff it as best possible, then use sand fix on it and spray a couple coats of laquer and buff. it would look better, but still would see some of the checking.

I hear you, but I've been pretty successful at bringing old paint back from the dead. This '72 GTO might surprise us once it is professionally polished. I constantly think about how many survivors out there would benefit from a little paint correction TLC...

Absolutely. It's quite a process, with several compounds, polishes, and pads along the way. But, #7 is fantastic with single stage paint. I believe I had about 50 hours into the paint on that green '71. All the stripes were masked, high spots taped, etc, to keep from wearing through. It's been several years since I polished that car and it hasn't faded back out. My intent here wasn't to hijack this '72 thread, but just to point out that the paint could likely be saved and look pretty damn good.

Wow, this one's about an hour from me. Engine looks like it was "fluffed" to me, but otherwise, what an awesome survivor!

looks like its had some fluffing besides the engine, new rear bumper for sure. It looks like somebody may have started to bring the paint "back" on the roof, pass side front. Nice basic fun Goat for sure
