Joe Oldham - The Supercar Scene 1968
Joe was a photojournalist, but also a tremendous racer. This is a great take on how "back in the day" manufactures catered to this segment of youthful buyers. It could be said that manufacturers follow that same model today. What keen insight he brought...

Joe was THE absolute best auto journalist IMO. He told it like it was and didn't pull any punches when it came to the cars he was testing. His articles were always entertaining, especially when he was street racing at all the famous spots. Hemmings Muscle Machines had Joe as a writer for a time and republished a lot of his old road tests from back in the day. I still go back and reread them. So good!
RIP Joe

its incredible...especially when he was overly truthful about an AMC product he tested and they banned him and HPC from new road tests ever again.
by the way... Steve.. if your looking for any articles I have a few hundred issues of HPC magazine as well as Speed and SuperCar. Both were published by Martyn and have similar articles. plus many other Street Freak and some of these in the pics.

Steve, what is the cover of this issue? It's not a standard monthly issue, right?
