Welcome to the site and thanks for sharing. Did your Chevelle go to Motion Performance for any modifications?

Thanks,
Marty

Default Questions answered

The Chevelle was at Motion, the inly blue one, he wanted $6500, so My uncle who was with me a Pontiac dealer drove around the block and sat with Baldwin Chevy dealer, they didn't so they brought the car to Baldwin and I paid $3825. Motion complained to them he did work but no paperwork.

Whereabouts unknown, sold motor to another racer and sold car with a 350 in it,in 74, got a total of $4200
Bought my 67 427 coupe 3 2's 3K with the cash

Here’s another pic you shared here of your LS6 a year or few back.
Do you still have any original paperwork and/or know the VIN?

Around 1982 a friend of a close friend would occasionally drive around in his brothers 70 LS6 Chevelle. Gold with an auto and kinda crusty but apparently they had full GM rear quarters for whenever they might get around to the restoration.

Couple years later I graduated high school and was no longer in constant contact with my friend.

Was driving home from an evening of kegling (bowling and beer) with another buddy and, while driving past a shopping center, I spot the Chevelle, sitting on the outskirts of the lot, with the hood up and someone I did not recognize, unbolting the hood.

I locate a pay phone and contact my friend who contacts his friend and they get back to me ... the older brother had been living in an apartment close to the mall but had moved out and left the car in the apartment parking lot. When the superintendent tired of the car taking up a parking space, he deemed it abandoned and had it towed and the towing company dumped it in the shopping center parking lot.

Due to my spotting the car, the cops were called as the Chevelle owner wanted the superintendent to be held responsible but the cops just shrugged it off ... "based on the condition of this car and the fact that the landlord/superintendent had the right to toss it off his property, we view the 'theft' of the hood as nothing more than someone garbage picking".

I never did hear how the story ended ... was it left for scrap or did the owner finally get it towed to somewhere safe?
