Yes Bill I know it is a rear wheel drive with some horse power but
It should have had a body design of its own It seems to me
That Pontiac has gotten lazy My two sons have Gand Ams
One 1996 the other a 2002 and they almost look the same
Now the new GTO is coming in with the same design
need some thing new

yeah, but GM is in the business of making money, not muscle cars. They did the best they could with what they had. The car is an exisitng body style from (I think) Austraila.

------Please understand that Im not the biggest fan of the design either. However,I read a story in one of the auto rags that put the design into some perspective.Basicly it stated that GM made a conscious decision not to do a retro design(ie:Thundebird,Beetle, etc.)because the feeling was"where would they go next".In other words the designers paint themselves into a corner as far as the next design down the road is concerned when they do a retro style design. With all this said,it does seem that they at least could have done a hood scoop.Whats a GTO without a hood scoop?????A friend with some connections at GM told me that they may have a scoop in 2005.
------My deposit is already down for one though. My underlying thought is to have the first GTO to go down to Ligenfelters for a serious dose of HP.What do you think?Hopefully Ill be able to get white,as thats my favorite color. Can you spell "sleeper"?.........Bill S......ol red!

Bill I am with you I am thinking of picking one up my self
That is why I have been watching the deployment of the GTO
For months
I guess it will grow on me Just wish GM do a little more with the hood
The interior looks good so far the colors are red and yellow
Hope there will be other colors

Just think of it as a rebadged Monaro .
We have a GTO version here but it is a HSV option with very big brakes wheels handling tweeks and 255 kw
I think you will like it in the flesh. The big difference will be in size and handling.
Not sure if your old Camaro had independent rear suspension ? Seem to remember reading that it did not.
Anyway this car will handle, very tight(thats why it has the pillar ) and responsive chassis

What power output did they claim for your LA auto show GTO
