I thought Jimmy Johnson was going to make it up to the front with 4 fresh tires. But there was too much traffic to fight his way through. Dale Jr does his best racing at Daytona.

Jimmy Johnson is definately one to reckon with and wouldn't be surprised to see him win the championship this year. Of course I'd like to see Jr. win it.

The Chevrolets looked awefully strong last night. I thought Jr.s night was going to end early when he came into the pits smoking after the first segment. Kurt Busch looked very strong as did Matt Kenseth for the Ford camp. Rudd showed that the Wood Bros. could still have a winning car early on. We'll see what happens today during qualifying.

My above post has a typo, I meant 184+ to get on the pole. How about those DEI and Childress cars! Junior just shattered Michaels qualifing speed and then Jeff Green came along! I can hear the Ford boys crying foul eventhough the bodies are essentially the same this year between all 4 makes. Maybe it proves one thing that has been said all along, the Fords just cannot make the horsepower that a Chevrolet can! i hope jr. dominates this season,if it wasn't for a failing alternator he could of taken the 500 easily and sweeped speedweeks
