I messed around the other day with our Sun distributor machine, but when we got it, we didn't get a manual or anything...would any of you happen to have a manual, or instructions, or anything for an old points-type distributor machine?
I checked the tag for a model number, and here is all it says: Model: SDT Serial: 33 I called a couple of places, but their first question is "what is the model number", so I'm kind of stuck. I'm guessing it's an earlier unit. Thanks in advance! (pun intended!) |

I have a 50s King distributor machine and have been checking with local automotive literature vendors. I'll be on the look out for your machine's paperwork too.

Rob, there was a guy at the Grayslake swap meet last Sunday selling boxes of Sun tune up charts at $75.00 per box. Maybe someone that was there got his name and info. It's worth a try.

Frank: I tell ya, it does indeed look cool, and the icing on the cake is that it all seems to work! From the vacuum pump to the dwell meter to the tach! Now we can do our own distributor work, and save ourselves some time/money.
Pete: Thanks for the info...Casey did have one, and was cool enough to email me a copy of his manual! Keith: I don't know if they have anything for the King units, but I stumbled onto this place that offered LOTS of instruction manuals for the older machines: 866-697-4777 I would love to pick up some more Sun stuff (I've been eyeing an old Sun system analyzer at our local high school for years!), and would be especially interested in the cart(?) that the distributor machine sets on. |
