Default 1969 Pace car information

First I want to say this is the greatest site for camaro enthusiast anywhere. I always get great usable information here. Maybe one day I’ll know something helpful so I to contribute to it.

Where is the best source for information on Z11 & Z10 pace cars?

I have: “The Definitive Z/28 / SS396”, Camaro Chevy’s Classy Chassis, Camaro White Book 20 yr. 67 to 87 printing, Camaro Restoration handbook, Camaro Chassis & Assembly manuals, plus parts books from many suppliers. But most of the books I have only have limited information on Z11’s and almost no info on Z10’s.

Thanks again for this great resource

Try the "Official Pace Car Book by Crispino and Hooper"

and the July/August 1992 edition of the USCC's Pace Car special of the camaro corral (now defunct)

These are two of the best.

I'm just asking. Is the Z-10 considered a Pace Car or just a Camaro with a pace car color scheme?

Z11's window stickers will show the Z11 option as Indy Pace Car accents

Z10 will not

Ok, well Im sure you're right Hawaiian. However, I had a friend in the past who owned a stack of the orig photo's from 1969 INDY back in early/mid 80's showing a large group of these Z10 cars AT the track! All were lined up in a photo staged behind the actual replica convert's for a group GM/Track photo. So, where in the end do the Z10's actually consider themselves: SS Cars or...This reply post of mine is STRICTLY for conversation purposes only...

That might be tough. Track cars were built 3 months before the race. Z10's were there though they were just built a few weeks before? I doubt......
