Does anyone here know anything about the 1976 Monza Mirage?
I have found one and it's pretty unique. it has a large spoiler on the rear and the fenders and quarter panels have body extensions like a old Can-Am car. The car is white with a big Red, White & Blue stripe on the roof, hood, deck lid and the same but smaller pinstripe on the lower rocker panels. this car is in pretty bad shape but complete. Thanks ![]() |

Yes! when it was new it did.
It's in poor shape now. Any idea how rare, or what's it worth? Thanks |

I really don't know how rare of a car this would be. How much is the seller asking for it? Is it all original?

I had a factory small block 75 Monza when I was a kid. Only a two barrel carb, but was lots of fun when you found an empty parking lot, locked the steering left or right then-you could do unlimited tire spinning.
Fun car. I never put any modifications on it, and as I recall the drivers side spark plug was impossible to change without partially removing the engine. The Small block in this car was a real GM shoe-horn job. Very Tight. ![]() |

Wasn't California the only state to get the Small block Monza with a 350? Somthing to do with the other motors failing emissions. Go figure!

HI all. You should also check out http://www.v8monza.com/
and http://monza.homestead.com/monza.html I'm pretty sure the Monza Mirage was only offered in 1977. They are very rare and alot of fun. If you do get it and restore it, check out http://www.geocities.com/miragestripes/ for stripes. Ron |

I'm surprised that as often as I frequent this site that I missed this post. Anyway, I've owned 9 Monza's in the last 20 years so I know a little bit about them (still have my '78 Monza Spyder I've had for 18 of those years, thus the login name) Anyway, the Mirage was only made in 1977 and there were only around 4000 produced. Not all were V8's, but I would say 98% of them were, although I've seen two 4-bangers over the years. As for value, it really depends on how bad the car is. I've seen some in bad shape not even sell for $400, let alone $1500, so it just really depends. I happen to have an extra set of Mirage fender flares for sale in my garage too (sans the front spoiler). Ron Lee (above) has, imo, the nicest Mirage in existence and it was a pleasant surprise to see him post here on this site. They're fun cars!
