Pure stockers that extrude hone? Shame, shame!

You might give Greg Gessler a call though. If he stays busy enough doing other peoples heads, intakes and exhaust manifolds maybe he wont have time to make that badd black Buick run any faster.

Hey John:

Any idea if Terry ever found a set of heads? I feel bad, cause I haven't ran across any yet!

Not yet Rob, Terry's still looking. He bought two different pair, but when he got them they both had been worked on too much to be considered stock. Things like, gasket matched, chambers polished, sand blasted ports etc. They would be ok for most uses, but not for a engine he wants to be able to certify. He's looking for a pair that still have the little foundry marks in the intake ports and as cast port shapes. It may take a while, but someone out there has a pair that will work.

Extrude honing sounds expensive to me. From the articles I've read, you don't get much for the $$$$$s. Gain 8 lbs of torque on the bottm and a couple of horse on the top at the wheels.

I know Dudek just picked up a tad when he did the extrude hone thing, but a Hemi isn't as corked up from the factory as our BBC's are...reckon a BBC would tend to see a larger gain?

Yea, I think BBC should see a larger gain than a HEMI, but for my money I would do the intake and the heads.
After one year, I could not tell that my manifolds were extrude honed.

I priced extrude honing for my exhaust manifolds about two years ago and they wanted $500. It would be more cost effective to port them with a grinder at home,in my opinion.
