Wasn't that Camaro built for Bill Mitchell? I would guess the car is still in GM's garage.

Jeff,

Actually that ZL-1 was built in 70 and was originally a Rally Sport. It was black with ZL-1 badging and special trim. Car was restyled later to predict the look of the 78 Camaro.

If you look close it is wearing 1976 Michigan plates for those pictures so that dates the photo you have there.

How in the world are you reading the 76 Michigan plates? You must have the article in front of you. I saved the pic and zoomed in, but couldn't read a thing (yeah, even with my glasses).

I don't doubt you, just want to know how.

Lynn

Lynn,

The plates for 76 were special and had the cast streamer marks at the bottom. You can see the lines clearly in those photos.

When are people going to learn that a committee will hardly ever generate something creative? Committee's are great at generating bland "safe" ideas. That's why there needs to be strong creative personalities involved.

I'd like to meet the "committee" that signed off on the styling of the Aztec...I hope for GM's sake that those individuals are currently seeking other employment...
