Didnt know what it was when my buddy told me. thats why i posted it here. I figured it was a common car but the 440 6 pack sounded like something to check out. Were there any Hemi cars in 72? Just curious..that ended in 71 correct?

No 72 hemis. Chrysler was working on a ball-stud rocker mount, cylinder head that would have been the next generation of the hemi but it was cancelled during development. The cylinder head was more like a big block chevy than a hemi.

There were several cars, Dodge and Plymoth B-bodies, that have been documented. The reason that they "snuck out" is that the engine was not emissions certified for 1972 and it's existance as a production vehicle was something of a legal violation. They were built during initial drivetrain testing/pilot vehicle production and then sold off as used cars or crushed. |
