Default White ZL1 corvette

I talked to the original owner of the X22 H/O camaro that had the ZLX motor in it earlier this week. He had bought the camaro through Mills chev in Moline Ill. He was good friends with one of the salesmen there, and would get calls to stop by and drive the new hipo cars that would come in. He claimed to have driven a white ZL1 corvette that had been shipped in from a Chicago dealer that couldn,
t sell the car. So could the white ZL1 that is known have been in Moline at that time?

I don't know Ken.
Could he have meant a ZR-1?
I have met a few guys claiming they saw or touched a ZL-1 Corvette back in the day, only to realize they were describing the LT-1 350 engine listed under the off road package RPO ZR-1.

The salesman told him it was an aluminum motor. It had a hood on it that was open to the rear, as he said when they drove it it was spraying a little gas on the windshield. He said for a corvette it was not very nice, but scary fast.

Let's see: aluminum engine, odd hood and scary fast. YEP! Sounds like a ZL-1.

The white ZL-1 Corvette has an interesting history surrounding it. Jack Cheskaty ordered it and it was delivered by the Gordon Wilson agency to a Magnasun Motors in Utah. This car arrived with 100 miles on it and it was supposed to be a new car. The owner was quite shocked to see the mileage. There is a lot controversy surrounding this cars pedigree as a factory optioned ZL-1.

Well let's see here. 100 miles on the odometer of a new
ZL-1 Corvette. How many joy rides did that add up to? Wonder
if they were dealer added miles or Woodward Ave added miles ( err... quarter miles )

Nuch
