Ebay item # 160146466241... Guys, check this one out!! Just from a quick glance the air cleaner needs "to go". I never knew there was such a color as "phantom blue" I think he means FATHOM BLUE..

I have heard the blue called that many times over the years, breather looks kinda day two looking and I bet it came with the car from the early years, looks kinda cool and the owner may think its the correct one or just likes it.

[ QUOTE ]
"we worked tirelessly tring to not miss a detail If I ruffled someones feathers, I apologize, but the statement above seems to be somwhat contadictory. No ones pointing out a missed chalk mark, or a difference in the sheen of a black panel. Most things pointed out are basic stuff. The air cleaner kinda bothered me because, yes it's a dual snorkle and although the ad doesn't say it's correct, it doesn't really say it's not. And there's about a 2k difference. Therefore leaving a novice buyer to the honesty of the seller. Perhaps the grille area was an oversight. That happens. No big deal. But again we go back to the quote above. And Marlin's comment on overblown descriptions. It's a nice car. I had one a lot like it, and loved the color. And the name gets misspelled, and screwed up all the time. Still pretty. I don't bash cars. We're way more into helping others with projects, than tryin to tear someone elses down. These were a couple of things that just kinda jumped out. Best of luck to your friend on the sale. |

Never seen that air cleaner on a nova. While it may be dual snorkle, it's not the kind I've seen on 70 L 78 applications. Grille could use a little black, and the SS emblem. Nice color(fathom blue).

731 is the standard black bench seat interior...this car has repop deluxe seat covers, repop deluxe door panels with the original sun-faded handles....has potential..but like so many others..lacks in the details. Best to look at it in person....

You people really need to quit bashing every car that comes up for sale in the country, using your "expert" criteria on every car. Pete, you've got 1700 posts and almost all that I've read are trying to stir up something about a car.
It bothers me on this one because I know the car. I know the guy that's selling the car- I know the car- I've seen the car before restoration and after. It's a very nice car. The mileage is right- the documents are real- the numbers are there. That is not the original air cleaner- he never said it was anywhere in the ad- and he is smart enough to know it's not the right one. The original air cleaner was lost, and getting the right one was not cost effective. He's also not asking $100,000 for it. I'm sorry to pop off, but you guys spend way too much time picking innocent people's cars apart and judging them all as if they were being sold as Vette- Fest Gold Spinner winners. |

Amen and very well said, redeuce. I'm a little tired myself of self-proclaimed 'experts' ripping apart other cars to show off their knowledge of certain vehicles. Even when they're not even for sale like the Fathom Green '69 Camaro in the new Hemmings musclecar magazine that ended up belongng to a member of this very own board. I guess picking flaws is what you do when you can't afford the car.
