Happy Easter!
Well, I have gone through the car to chack all of the numbers. Everything is numbers matching. I don't have any info on flywheels so I can't check these numbers. I have 2 flywheels and was wondering if anybody could tell me what they are for? Casting number 3789738 date code B179 (Feb 17/69) Casting number 3791021 date code C49 (Mar 04/69) The car was ordered in Feb '69 and the original owner took delivery of it in April '69. Pretty much everything was casted in March. I did receive a 283 that was in the car which is now removed. Which flywheel is for this motor? The 3791021 casting has been balanced and is much thicker than the other. Also, is there casting numbers on starters? If I give you guys the number off of the starter, could you check that as well? Thanks in advance!

The #738 was used on earlier model Series 10-20 Trucks w/SB.
The #021 cast was originally used on & recommended replacement for M/T equipped vehicles up until 1970,on: *1970 ALL vehicles w/307cid & 6cyl. *1969 Passenger 327cid & 350cid. *1967-69 302cid. *1964-69 ALL w/230cid & 250cid. *1964-68 ALL 283cid & 307cid & 327cid. *1962-69 Chevy II & Chevelle w/HD clutch. *1963-68 Passenger & Corvette w/283cid & 307cid. Starters have a part number and date code stamped on the outside of the housing,just below the solenoid.If you relay it,I can check it for you. |

[/ QUOTE ] I am going to have to wave the flag... ![]() I don't believe that a guy can figure out how to join a site, then cut and paste his "question" into several different forums, but does not understand basic forum etiquette even after being nicely asked to start his own thread. I also believe that even if someone does not type well, they can read back what they wrote and realize it is barely comprehendible. |
