Not to be a downer ... but a person I knew back when I was a kid just got killed down there last week so just keep your eyes open

PS- I was in St Cloud for a wedding many moons ago. A Buddy I played football with married a girl from there. He is now the coach of the Maple Grove Fighting Irish High School football team ...

With all the shootouts going on between drug gangs in public places anymore, there's no way I would be heading anywhere south of the border All the colleges and universities here in AZ are advising their students not to go there for upcoming spring break festivities....just too dangerous. A couple we know here just returned from a whale watching tour they took in Baja CA a couple weeks ago. Out in the middle of nowhere their charter bus was stopped by the Federales, in all black suits with only their eyes exposed, and automatic weapons pointed at them. All men were ordered off the bus and were held at gunpoint while they went from person to person searching for who knows what. Bob said he thought it was all over for them and they swear they will never return to Mexico.

That's my 2 cents....

Wow, thats a sad read. Thanks for the heads up on how un-safe things seem down below the border. Our resort seems to have a lot of activities, probally best to stay there rather than adventure out.

My Friends just went down there maybe a month ago and had a great time golfing and hitting a few bars at night. They had no problems. They go every year.

Insurance companies that issue "ransom and recovery" coverage have put Mexico on their do not travel list. They will issue the policy but at a very high rate.
