try this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_500wt_1182

Info from the posting:

For sale for the first time ever is my 68 Camaro RS SS 427 Big Block..This is a 1 owner car that my uncle purchased brand new...Please follow as the history is very interesting...My uncle bought this car brand new in 1968 at the age of 18,.The car came from the factory with big block 396, 4 speed muncie and 12 posi rear end.along with power brakes..The original color is Z-Z ( British Green) And the interior is Ivy Gold...After the first year of owning the car he blew up the engine and went back to the dealership for a replacement 396, at that time the 396 engines were nearly impossible to get, he was purseuded into making a upgrade by the dealer for a 427 which in turn cost him a little extra money , so he went for it. My Dad remembers this like it was yesterday and said his mom was furious and aftter the car had the new engine put in she wouldnt let him drive it for more than 8 months!.Needless to say , this car has only seen one new york winter EVER, and it was in 1968. The car has aluminum heads on it and still has the original muncie 4 speed along with the 12 bolt posi..My uncle has since passed 2 yrs ago and the car was handed down to me, I have since taken it to the body shop for its first ever paint job which has turned out to be a mistake. I am out of money, and the shop is dragging their feet and i honestly have become so frustrated that i just dont want to deal with it anymore..I just dont have the patience or time. The car is scheduled ( so they say) to be done in the next few weeks but im not gonna hold my breathe. I will sell the car as is or continue with the paint process, this will be solely the choice of the winner of this auction..I have PROTECTO PLATE, BUILD SHEET, OWNERS MANUAL, AND WARRANTY MANUAL for this car. This is a TRUE RS SS car ..Please enail any questions you may have and i will do my best to answer them.Heck, my uncles name was Scotty, Maybe this could be a "SCOTTY CAMARO" lol..anyhow, i know this car does have some value so im listing it with no reserve hoping the collectors out there will let me know its true worth..Thank you for viewing and good luck I only have one pic right now ,i will download more before auction ends..

On Jun-06-11 at 10:24:34 PDT, seller added the following information:
Ok, i have added more pics, you will notice the car has original big block heater core and you may not see in pic but it has a single feed 3/8" fuel line which means this is a high hp car..i am having someone come out to locate the #s for me for those of you waiting..thanks for your paitience..

This has to be one of the BEST ebay for sale pictures ever ...

aluminum heads

WW!!!

Obviously this car, paperwork, engine and all deserve closer inspection!.
The POP and other info may indicate an L78 or even L89 originally but seeing the alloy heads and waterpump, maybe an L88 was what was put in it!?
Note the poor picture looking down on the Suffix pad, it almost appears like the block's aluminum!?
Sad the bodyshop's dicked him around but it's certainly nothing new..
Either way, something cool may be waiting for whoever gets over there and can make decisions w/ the car and guy in front of them!?
Here's to Uncle Scotty!.

I like the story! If there is paperwork to support it I would think a dealer installed 427 w aluminum heads would certainly be worth more than a stock 396 .....

I would have liked to see photos of the one owner for 40+ years car before Willie Nelson started with the DA sander.

Does it come with both hoods?
