Stock class eh? I wonder if Jerry would elaborate into detail of the parameters that make that class?

Holy Crap! That is a very respectable time for that setup. That car left the ground completely on the 2nd hop. Nice.

car has gone in the 10:40 range since then in D/Stock. He has the record at 10.45 at almost 127.00 mph. I believe the fastest 302 Stocker in the country.

heh... go to the forums and see. the rules seem to apply to just some people and then theyre changed every other week. weight breaks, what can be polished and what cant. the use of epoxys to recreate the sandcast look. i never knew soo much drama existed in certain classes.

spend some time here to read about it all. oh...and NHRA is the devil if you ask them.

Be curious to see what Jerry would do in the FAST class. I think he'd embarrass those SCJs and L88 Corvettes that are taking top honors these days just getting into the 9's.

Very impressive! that Z is hauling the mail!!

I was talking to a NHRA class racer with a 69 L71 (435 tri power) Corvette who was doing a tnt at the same drag strip that Fast class racer Terry Pennington was doing a tnt with his Fast 69 L88 Vette. The Nhra class racer said that the worst thing to have happen was to have a "truely stock" car running the same class show up at a Nhra race so the inspectors can compare the two cars and see how much you are cheating. The Nhra L71 Corvette didn't look anywhere near stock under the hood (even discounting the headers), while most of the Fast cars look like they came off of the showroom floor. I'm sure the Nhra racers could go extremly fast in a Fast class car, but I doubt if they would even pass the visual test.

By the way, FAST cars don't get to do suspension mods like NHRA stockers do.

john is spot on there, the FAST guys run low stall convertors so they dont get wheel spin on launch and run repro bias plys and walk the cars out to 60ft in most cases.

ive seen dave dudek uncork his exhaust and run slicks and then the car is a whole other animal. ive spent a lot time around the FAST guys at lebanon valley raceway. ill say this.... aint nothin stock about those cars but their appearance. i could spend a whole day writing a post about whats done to those cars. ive spent hours in the pits talkin to dave dudek about his hemi road runner and what he will only "admit" hes done to it.
