Were most of the Day 2 type cars running stock axles, or after market? What were the most popular brands?

I'm a major fan of Mark Williams stuff and use it exclusively. Great quality. Great knowledge. Excellent customer service. Mark's axles and internal parts are going into the Dana for my Nova.
On the other hand, Summers was big at one time (the original Summers stuff was very nice too). Strange came around a bit after Summers. Henry's Axles on the west coast was another. Wayne |

I agree with you on the Summer Brothers, but for me the cost difference directed me to go with Mark Williams..a quaility
product for less $$. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Hotrodsled</div><div class="ubbcode-body">I'm a major fan of Mark Williams stuff and use it exclusively. The irony of it all is that Mark Williams is the highest price these days. But no one can argue with their quality.

Around my place I always saw Strange axles. At the strip and around town. Most conversations about axles usually involved Strange. Like most speed parts I think its a regional thing. If the top racers or local speed shop decides on a specific brand, you will see it dominate the area. That goes without saying on things like wheels and gauges.
If you go with an aftermarket axle you need the correct era decal if they offered one. I called Strange and asked about thier decals and how they changed over the years and they really didn't have an answer over the phone but did send the new catalog which had a great page dedicated to the past logos they used. This was great because the strange axles in my car are probably from the early 70's and the logo on my axle ends is a good clue. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Tommy |

I've got some original decals of that top logo. They are metal flake. I'll try to remember and take a picture of them.

I'd like to see them. If you have extras I would be interested in a couple or maybe borrowing one to have a couple made. Tommy [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/ ![]() |

The decal measures about 3.5". Picture doesn't do it justice.
