Hi guys and gals. Recently got a 454 motor im starting to tear down. I pulled the cam out and having trouble identifying it. Im assuming these are casting numbers 6883, and it also has gm2 on it but thats all the numbers i can find. Any help would be appretiated. Thanks Alex

Most casting numbers on camshafts only show the last 4 digits...you don't say what year the motor is??
In checking Colvin's book for 70-75 454 motors...I see no reference to those 4 digits...perhaps if you told us the engine pad stamp info it might help. Is it a hydraulic or solid cam?? wilma

Are there any close to the last three digits. The first digit is hard to make out. The engine is a 289 casting. The engine came in a 73 truck. The crank is a 7416 forged crank, which leads me to believe it is probably not a stock cam, or a stock motor either. The bore is still a standard bore. I took hydraulic lifters out of it, so im assuming its a hydraulic cam. Thanks for trying to help.
