How did he get all new gaskets in the engine without it being apart..........?

Maybe he means bottom end never apart. Or engine never out of the car.

Nice buy for someone. If I am not mistaken, the guy I bought my first car from at age 18 also brought this car to Ohio in the late 70's/early 80's and it ended up in his brother's hands. I bought a 73 Ventura from him in 1980 and it ended up to be a great car that lasted me for years. He knew I loved 69 Chevelles and would always tell me about this car. It was well out of my league back then.
