Spent part of Sunday afternoon at Dyno Dom's Sikeston Drag Strip's teat and tune session. Great weather, great people and the best part, even though it was just a TNT session, the crew had the track prepped as if it were a major event. The Yenko was hooking so good that I was able to lower my all time best short time and 1/8 ET (1.3338 and 6.3416).

That 1/8 time equates to a 9.80-9.90 pass!
That's one strong running small block! |

I would love to get into the 10.0? range, but that is asking a lot of a normally aspirated 355CI SBC in a 3000lb door slammer.

As a rule of thumb, you can multiply your 1/8 mile e.t. by 1.56 or 1.57 to calculate your theoretical 1/4 mile e.t.
1.56 works better on well scienced out cars and 1.57 is a little more forgiving. You can also calculate theoretical 1/4 mile mph by dividing 1320 by your e.t.: 1320/9.90 = 133.33 MPH 1320/10.90 = 121.1 MPH 1320/11.90 = 110.9 MPH It's reasonably accurate. |
